We are from Matteo Ricci (Li Madou in Chinese)Institute in Italy. It
is a newly found institute and we are preparing for an exhibition next
year, in which we will show the public some maps by Matteo Ricci and
some other objects in Ming dynasty. So it would be a great pleasure
for us if you can give us some information about the maps by Matteo
Ricci. It is said, for example, there are 14 editions of maps of the
world by Matteo Ricci, but we would like to know more, their orignins,
the drawer, where they are now.... The other example is that who
drew the map of China (that one pieced together all the Chinese
province in Ming dynasty, Matteo Ricci or Michael Ruggeri, in Chinese
Ruo Mingjian)... We read from a book saying that there is a worldmap
by Matteo Ricci made in 1603 now in Korea, and about this, we need
more detailed information.
